Why we built IndexPedia
We run a large travel and local-business directory with tens of thousands of pages. For years, Google Search Console told us that pages were "Crawled - currently not indexed" or "Discovered - currently not indexed", but never what to change. We fixed things by guessing.
Then customers started asking AI assistants instead of searching, and a second question appeared: do ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude even read our pages, and do they ever recommend the businesses we list? No tool we used could answer it.
So we built one. IndexPedia checks every page the way search engines and AI crawlers see it, explains each problem in plain words, writes the fix, and keeps measuring. We use it on our own sites every day, and the live results page shows those numbers.
What we believe
- Honest over impressive: we never promise rankings, indexing or AI recommendations, because no one can
- Fixes over findings: a list of problems is only useful with the fix next to it
- Real numbers: every score shows how it was made, and our own sites are shown live
- Plain words: every result is written so a business owner can act on it
- Your site, your decision: nothing changes on your site without your approval
- Respect for every server: our crawler is slow, polite and easy to stop
Who IndexPedia is for
Small and local businesses that want to know whether AI assistants recommend them. Site owners and publishers with pages that never get indexed. Agencies and freelancers who manage sites for clients and need clear reports and fixes they can apply.
About IndexPediaBot
IndexPediaBot is the crawler that checks pages for IndexPedia. It only opens public pages of sites added to IndexPedia or entered in the free site scan, and loads them one at a time with a pause between requests. It never logs in or submits forms. To ask us to stop crawling a site, use the contact page and we will do it the same day.
Where we are
IndexPedia is built and run in Raleigh, North Carolina. You can reach us through the contact page, and we answer the same business day, Eastern Time.
