Against official IP lists.

What your site blocks

403s and firewall blocks, per bot.

And the ones it skips.

What your server log already knows

Every request to your site is written to an access log: the address, the page, the time, the status and the user agent. Hidden in it is a full history of which AI and search crawlers visited, what they read, and where they hit errors.

The Log Analyzer reads that file for you and turns it into a short report.

  • Visits per crawler: OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, Google, Bing, Apple, Meta and others
  • Real vs fake: each visit checked against the official IP lists
  • Pages crawlers read most, and errors they ran into
  • Hours and days of activity
  • Pages you block by mistake

Which log formats work

The standard "combined" format used by nginx, Apache, LiteSpeed and most hosts. Upload the plain file or the .gz version, up to 50 MB. One to seven days of log is usually enough.

Your file stays private

The file is read once to build your report and then deleted. If you choose to, only anonymous totals are added to the public AI Crawler Radar.

Log Analyzer: frequently asked questions

What does the Log Analyzer do?

It reads your server's access log and finds every visit from AI and search crawlers. You see visits per crawler, which pages they read, errors they hit, when they were active, and which visits came from fake bots pretending to be real crawlers.

Is the Log Analyzer free?

Yes. You can analyze a log without an account. Without an account there is a limit of a few logs per hour.

Which log formats are supported?

The standard "combined" log format used by nginx, Apache, LiteSpeed and most hosting companies. You can upload the plain .log file or the compressed .gz version.

How big can the log file be?

Up to 50 MB. For busy sites, one day of log, or the .gz version, usually fits and gives a clear picture.

Where do I find my access log?

In most hosting control panels, look for Logs, Raw Access or Access Logs. On your own server it is usually at /var/log/nginx/access.log or /var/log/apache2/access.log. Many hosts let you download the last few days as .gz files.

What happens to my log file?

The file is read once to build your report and then deleted. Only the report is kept. If you choose to, anonymous totals, with no addresses, pages or site name, are added to the public AI Crawler Radar.

How are fake bots detected?

Each visit that claims to be a known crawler is checked against the IP addresses its owner publishes. If the address is not on the official list, and does not pass the owner's DNS check where one is offered, the visit is marked as fake.

Why do fake bots matter?

Fake bots use the names of trusted crawlers to get past firewalls, then scrape content and use your server's resources. Knowing which addresses they use lets you block them without blocking the real crawlers.

What can I do with the report?

Check whether the AI crawlers you care about visit your important pages, find pages that return errors to crawlers, and spot crawlers you are blocking by mistake. Then fix robots.txt or firewall rules accordingly, for example with the Fix Kit.

How long does the analysis take?

Most logs are processed in a few seconds. A progress screen shows each step, and you can leave and come back to the report link.
