Why AI recommendations matter
More customers now ask an AI assistant instead of typing a search. They ask questions like "best gluten-free bakery near me" or "who repairs iPhones in Raleigh", and the assistant answers with a short list of names. If you are not on that list, the customer never sees you.
Unlike a search results page, an AI answer has no page two. Being named, and being named first, is what counts.
What the check does
IndexPedia asks the questions your customers ask, live, with web search turned on, the same way a real customer would. Then it reads every answer and records whether your business is named, where, and who is named instead.
- Discovery questions: does AI recommend you when someone asks for a business like yours?
- Name questions: does AI know who you are when asked about you directly?
- Competitors AI names instead, ranked by how often
- The websites AI relied on for its answers
- Facts AI states about you, and gaps in what it knows
How to get recommended more often
AI assistants build answers from what they can find and trust: your own website, business listings, review sites and local directories. The businesses that get named usually have clear, consistent facts across those places.
Start with the sources the check shows. Make sure your business is listed there with the same name, address, hours and services. Then give AI a clear page about you, which is what the AI Profile does.
